Hi again. I know it’s been a year since my last update… Right after I made my last blog post, I found out I was pregnant again. Well, that baby girl is now 3 months old!

I puked and slept for 9 months… It sucked. I was way too sick to do anything creative besides a little bit of coding, but I didn’t draw the entire time. Fortunately as soon as the baby was out, I felt completely back to normal. It’s been such a strange experience. So I’ve been back to drawing and working on my game projects for a few months now, trying to play catchup after losing so much time!! :s It’s so overwhelming.

I went ahead and uploaded a few new drawings from this year to the top of the art gallery, but I also uploaded a ton of old art I had never posted before to the gallery. It’s mostly old Skyrim drawings from 2019-2020 when I made the first iteration of my Skyrim character, but also some other random art I never put up. I might make a new section on my site for my diary-type comics that I sometimes make but never post because I don’t want to put them in the main gallery? I’m trying to decide what to do with them…

So, what’s going on with the games I’ve been working on? I sidelined the two games I was working on in my last post because I want to focus on micro games/experiences first before I go back to the larger projects. I’ve gotten so far into both of them, especially on the programming side (I spent years building and iterating the systems in those games) but I need continue building my dev confidence with more tiny projects. I’ve gotten pretty deep into a new fortune teller game/thing… I’m using this project to explore using pre-rendered graphics in my GameMaker projects after becoming interested in 3D art again. I’ve built two sets in Blender and made a lowpoly character model, and I’m using those 3D assets to make 2D renders that I post-process in Photoshop and Clip Studio before bringing those results into GameMaker. The game itself is going to be small and simple; my focus is on experimenting with the pipeline.

I had wanted to get it done by Halloween. Is that going to happen? I don’t think so. I have a toddler and an infant… I’m so tired, lmao. But I am making progress every day and it’ll be finished before the end of the year. I’ll definitely have some progress .gifs to share for Halloween. In the meantime, I’ll be finishing up some drawings I have started, and I have some little clay things I’ve been making that need to be photographed. Plus I want to update my website graphics and colors again… Oh, and I’m thinking about using my instagram again, maybe posting a little of my art on social media since I stopped doing that years ago…..!
